Your Comms Team Doesn't Need an AI God. It Needs These Five Roles

Every CCO or senior comms leader I've spoken with this year asks me some version of the same question: what does my team actually look like in three years given AI? The honest answer makes some of them uncomfortable, but in sort of a good way. The team will first get smaller in the traditional sense. Then it may in fact grow. It will almost certainly be stranger. And it will very likely cost more. The leaders who, despite their best intentions, sprint toward the new without a disciplined strategy are the ones most at risk of developing what Jensen Huang calls the AI God complex: the dangerous conviction that because you have access to powerful tools, attended some seminar, and listen to podcasts, you now know everything about AI and can do everything. In communications, that arrogance is terminal.
